The product

Carvox is a used car classifieds marketplace for Portugal. Dealers are the paying customers; private sellers list per listing (€4 for 30 days, 1 free per month). We do not process the transaction: payment and transfer happen between buyer and seller.

The differentiator is Vox, an AI advisor in European Portuguese that understands requests like "family with 2 kids, long trips, up to €25k" and returns a curated selection with reasons.

For dealers

Listing cars is free. You pay only for the contacts you receive — set a bid €/lead on each listing and top up your account balance (minimum €25). The higher the bid, the more likely the listing appears in featured spots.

KYB required (tax ID, IMT licence, address). Optional "IMT Verified" badge via pre-approval inspection. No sales commission — you only pay for qualified leads.

For buyers

• Fair price score on every listing (vs. peers with same body+fuel+year).
• IMT-verified dealerships.

• Browse freely — optional registration for favourites and alerts.

For private sellers

1 free listing/month. Subsequent listings at €4 each, 30 days. AI generates auto-description from photos. No transaction fee.

Technology

Next.js 16 with App Router and Turbopack, React 19, Tailwind v4, strict TypeScript, OpenAI with tool calling for Vox. Hosted on Vercel, observability via Vercel Analytics and Sentry. No opaque dependencies — auditable and portable stack.
